Voluntary sector support
The VSS
Programme provides a range of practical support to
voluntary and community organisations, charities and social
enterprises who work with children, young people and
families.
The programme aims to strengthen the links between government
and voluntary sector by ensuring that the sector is informed of
government policies and initiatives, and involved in their
conception and delivery.
The programme offers:
Policy briefings
Specifically designed to
look at the implications of health policies for children, young
people and family organisations.
Free training and events
Commissioning training events across England and policy update
events.

Consultation opportunities VSS is often
asked to respond directly to government departments on current
consultations and asks voluntary sector organisations for
their opinions in order to provide a strong combined response from
the sector. It also runs consultation
events to gather views.
E-bulletin
A monthly e-bulletin containing updates about VSS policy briefings,
events and training, consultation opportunities, and also
other relevant funding and resources.
The bulletin also contains the VSS 'Quick Question' and a profile of a mailing
member organisation each month to highlight their work.
Support Services
A range of services to help make your organisation more efficient
and effective. Services include operational support such as HR, ICT
and business planning, specialist services such as research and
event management and room hire facilities at our London and NI
offices.
