Vulnerable Children
The vulnerable children programme aims
to improve the life chances, outcomes and inclusion of
potentially marginalised/excluded children and young
people, who with their families, are likely to be in need of
child welfare services. Our work helps frontline practitioners and
managers to translate research and to secure continuous
improvements in policy practice and services, and we use the
learning from this to influence policy.
Our current priorities are:
- children in care or at the edge of care
- young people excluded from/disaffected with
education
- young people in the justice system
- child protection
- young people living with or closely affected by HIV,
in particular the transition of young people with HIV from
children to adult services.
