Policy unit
NCB's Policy Unit acts as a central
information point on child policy and parliamentary activity. It
works through coalitions and networks to develop, agree and promote
changes to public policy that will benefit children and young
people.
The unit aims to:
- influence government policy that affects children and young
people by ensuring it is based on evidence and informed opinion; is
coordinated across government; and advances the best interests and
rights of children and young people
- promote the participation rights of children and young people
in policy development and parliamentary activity
- represent the breadth of expertise and interests of NCB's staff
and membership at a national level
We have selected two policy priority
areas to help us prioritise our work for the 2010/11
Parliamentary Year.
The unit clerks the All
Party Parliamentary Group for Children (APPGC), which consists
of 100 peers and MPs interested in keeping up to date with
children's issues.
